Ravana three powerful lessons to lakshmana

Three important Ramayana lessons that every human on this earth should know it. Ravana’s lessons are universally recognized as driving principles from ancient era to modern world. These lessons from Ravana brought miraculous changes in Laxman’s life. Laxman (Laxmana) is a prompt reactive for any tense situation. These lessons made Laxman composed, matured and enlightened. Subsequently, treasuring the Lessons from Ravana, Laxman recognized good things should be accepted irrespective of any source. The Ravana’ lessons are widely followed by strategists and philosophers.

There were many books, written by various authors, influenced by these lessons from the beginning of Tretayug to Kalyug. Great rulers and emperors followed and adopted these lessons. The lessons came from Ravana on request of Laxman (Laxmana) at a situation when Ravana was about to go for permanent sleep. The situation aroused after shooting of the deadly arrow by Lord Ram on the battlefield of Lanka. Ram told his brother, Lakshman, “Go to Ravana quickly before his last breath and request him to share whatever knowledge he can. Although he is non-ethical, but he is a great intellectual”.

But, Laxman was surprised the order from Lord Rama and made a facial expression as he has heard something not true. Lord Rama again said same thing. Laxman went and stood at Ravana’s head and asked, “What were the lessons you have learnt?”. Ravana replied nothing. Disappointed Laxman had come back without any lessons. Laxman explained everything to Lord Rama word by word. Lord Rama said Laxmana (Laxman), “ You stood near his head, therefore he didn’t like to speak to you, now you go again and stand near his feet”. This time Laxman went and stood near Ravana’s feet. Ravana could be able to see Laxman properly and he said as follows.

LESSONS FROM RAVANA

1. Good works to be done immediately, unethical works to be delayed.

Ravana had a great vision and he wanted to do many good things. He had more than 60 different types of knowledge from battle field to Upanishads. The list of works which couldn’t be completed as follows.

A. Change of Blood colour: Ravana won many battles. Consequently, the massive killings. The visual situations with the colour of blood have immensely disappointed gods and goddesses. Ravanasura (Ravan) thought the visuals of red colour is the reason for unhappiness of the gods and goddesses. Therefore, he wanted to change the colour of blood to white.

B. Give a fragrance to gold: He felt that the gold is a precious metal. He felt that the yellow metal increases the overall look of his queens. But the identification of the metal needs goldsmith, which he didn’t liked. Therefore, he wanted to give nice fragrance to gold.

C. A staircase to heaven: Ravana (Ravan) achieved everything in his life. Also, he has got command over his death. He spent affluent and prosperous life. He had a curiosity see the life in heaven and wanted to pay a visit. But, he hasn’t found the way to Heaven, even he had meditated for so many years. Therefore, he thought to construct a ladder to heaven.

D. Liquor without smell: The odor of the liquor (Madhira) became a hindrance at few occasions and diluted the performance which brought to few levels down from the perfection. Therefore, he added in the list of the good works to change the liquor’s smell to a pleasant to facilitate accompaniment of everyone.

E. Fair skin to everyone: The colour of the skin has embarrassed many occasions to Ravan (Ravana). He was placed as persona-nongrata by the beautiful ladies in those days due to his body colour. This has embarrassed him in many events. Therefore, he thought to change the colour of skin to fair.

F. Ocean water to drinking water: He was very much pleased to have his island surrounded by sea. The other reason, the island was very safe from the security point of view. But, he struggled to provide sufficient drinking water to his people. Therefore, he wanted to convert seawater to drinking water.

G. Make people Athiest: He aspired to make everyone to worship him. He wanted to make people to accept him as God.

2. Never underestimate your enemy

Being an intellectual, forward thinker and predictor the Ravana couldn’t be able to understand the power of Ram, Sita and Laxman. The Ram is incarnation of Vishnu, Sita is incarnation of Bhagwati Laxmi and Laxman has got the power from Bhrahma and shiva. The most important was the help of Hanuman, who is power from Shiva. They all were fighting for dharma (justice) whereas Ravana was fighting for adharma (in-justice). He never thought of envisaging the Lord Rama’s power due to over confidence.

3. Never disclose the secrets.

Once the secret is revealed, the secret is dead and there is no more safeguard for the secret. Vibhishana  (Vibhisan), the brother of Ravana aware of the death secrecy of Ravana. Vibhishana (Vibhisan) has become medium to transfer the death secret of Ravana to Lord Ram.

4. The Various other administrative Lessons are as follows.

A. Avoid hostility with own charioteer, gatekeeper, cook and brother.

B. Although, if you are winning all the time, do not consider yourself a winner every time.

C. Have a great regard for the minister, who criticises you.

D. Never think for your enemy is small or powerless.

E. Stars can place you at right position, not to think you can outsmart the stars

F. The emotions should strong whether you express love are hatred

G. A king who is eager to win glory must suppress greed as soon as it lifts its head.

H. A king must address the smallest to smallest problem to do good to others, without the slightest delay.
